Mission

The Canadian HSS Commons is an Implementing New Knowledge Environments (INKE) Partnership initiative, in partnership with the Canadian Social Knowledge Institute, CANARIE, Compute Canada, the Electronic Textual Cultures Lab, the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences, the Modern Language Association, and others. Our mission is to connect and support the work of Humanities and Social Sciences researchers across Canada.

What is Canadian HSS Commons?

The Canadian HSS Commons is a resource for research, education, and collaboration. Members can share, access, develop, re-purpose, and preserve scholarly data and resources through our Repository. Create a user profile, connect to your academic association, build an interest group, and share content! You can collaborate on a project in a shared workspace, post CFPs, link a CV to your profile, and more. This non-profit network does not collect or sell user data.

Join Us

ORCID

ORCID provides a persistent identifier – an ORCID iD – that distinguishes you from other researchers, and a mechanism for linking your research outputs and activities to your iD. This can be connected with professional affiliations, grants, publications, and more. You do not need to have an ORCID iD in order to use the Canadian HSS Commons. However, we are looking into further integration with ORCID and will, ideally, be able to streamline your information in the future in this way. This will benefit you by reducing duplication of work and ensuring that all pertinent information is current.

Canadian HSS Commons Team / Équipe

The INKE Partnership is a large, collaborative, targeted research intervention exploring open social scholarship, the digital humanities, and scholarly communication. The INKE Partnership was initially funded by a $2.5 million, 7-year Major Collaborative Research Initiative (MCRI) grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), plus an additional $10.4 million in contributions from institutional and research partners. The international INKE Partnership team involves over 42 researchers and consultants, 53 graduate research assistants, 4 staff members, 19 postdoctoral fellows, and 30 partners and associates.
